Who we are

Counterkit is made and sold by Halvex Labs, Hyderabad, India, a small web studio that builds ordering sites for local shops. "We" on this page means Halvex Labs. For anything about your data, email hello@halvexlabs.com.

What this site collects

We don't store any personal data from this site. There are no cookies, no advertising or tracking pixels and no sign-up forms.

Visit counts (Cloudflare Web Analytics)

To see how many people visit and which sites send them, each page loads Cloudflare Web Analytics, a small script from static.cloudflareinsights.com. For each page view it reports to Cloudflare the page's address (Cloudflare doesn't log the part after the "?"), the site that linked you here, your country, your browser and device type, and how fast the page loaded.

Cloudflare says this tool uses no cookies or local storage to collect its figures and doesn't "fingerprint" visitors by IP address, browser or anything else. We only see totals, such as the number of visits that came from one site in a week, never a list of visitors. About Cloudflare Web Analytics.

Content blockers often block this script. The site works the same either way.

Campaign tags on links

Some links to this site end in campaign tags, such as utm_source=reddit and utm_campaign=launch, so we can tell which post, email or ad people came from. If the address you arrive on has them, the page keeps a copy in your browser's session storage (deleted when you close the tab) and adds them to the Gumroad buy links. Gumroad's sales report then shows which channel a sale came from. The tags describe the link, not you.

Your theme choice

If you use the light/dark switch, your choice is saved in your own browser's local storage so the page remembers it. It never leaves your device, and you can clear it from your browser settings.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles technical data such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse. Cloudflare's privacy policy explains how.

Buying, and the free pricing sheet

When you click a buy button, Gumroad's checkout opens, loaded from gumroad.com. Gumroad's script isn't loaded until you click. Gumroad is the merchant of record: it takes the payment, works out any sales tax or VAT, and delivers the download. To do that it collects your email address, payment details and country, and sets its own cookies, all under its own privacy policy. Gumroad also receives the address of the page you clicked from and any campaign tags on the link. We never see your card or bank details.

As the seller, we receive from Gumroad what we need to deliver the product: your name, email address, country, what you bought and when, and which page or campaign link the sale came from. We use it to send the files and updates you're entitled to, to answer support emails, and to see which channels bring buyers.

If you get the free pricing sheet, Gumroad may send you a few follow-up emails about it and about Counterkit. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Email

If you write to us, we use your message only to reply and to help you. We don't add you to any list because you emailed.

The demo shops

The demo shops are fictional and never send orders anywhere. What you add to a demo cart stays in your browser.

Links to other sites

Some links go to other sites, such as GitHub, Gumroad and Cloudflare's documentation. Their own privacy policies apply there.

What we don't do

We don't sell or rent personal data, we don't share it with advertisers, and we don't use advertising or retargeting pixels.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@halvexlabs.com. Purchase records that Gumroad keeps for tax and accounting are governed by Gumroad's policy. You can also block the analytics script with any content blocker; nothing on the site depends on it.
